How I Treat
Recovery After Surgery

Surgery is only half the story. What you do in the weeks and months afterward determines how well you actually recover — how much motion you get back, how strong you become, and whether you return to the life you had before.
At Therapeutic Connection, your post-surgical rehabilitation is one-on-one with a Physical Therapist with over 30 years of clinical experience — every session, every time. Working within your surgeon’s post-operative guidelines, I combine hands-on manual therapy, progressive strengthening, and movement retraining so you don’t just heal — you come back capable and confident.
I provide post-surgical rehabilitation after:
- Joint replacement (hip, knee, shoulder)
- Spine surgery
- Rotator cuff and other shoulder repairs
- ACL reconstruction and other knee surgeries
- Foot and ankle surgery
- Pelvic surgeries, including prostatectomy and hysterectomy recovery
- Procedures with lingering swelling — see Lymphatic Therapy
- Athletic surgeries with return-to-sport goals
What recovery with me looks like:
- Hands-on care from day one — gentle manual therapy to manage swelling, protect healing tissue, and restore motion safely.
- A plan built around your surgery and your goals — not a generic protocol sheet. Your timeline, your milestones, your life.
- Strength that transfers to real life — progressive exercise so stairs, beach walks, golf, or grandkids feel possible again.
- One-on-one, every visit — you will never be handed off or left on a machine in the corner.
Recovering at home? Through my concierge service I bring your rehabilitation to your residence or resort along the Kohala Coast — especially valuable in the early weeks when travel is hard. Virtual sessions are also available statewide in Hawaiʻi and in California.
